Fourfront raises £34,000 for Charity

Fourfront raises over £34,000 in Apprentice Challenge for Shooting Star Chase. Staff from commercial interior specialists - Fourfront Group - recently became apprentices for the day, raising over £34,000 for Shooting Star Chase – a leading local children’s hospice charity.

Thirty employees from Fourfront’s offices in London, Egham and Colnbrook separated into six teams to take over the charity’s shops in Weybridge, Whitton, Walton, Hampton Hill, Teddington and Twickenham. Known as the ‘Apprentice Challenge’, their mission was to encourage colleagues, family, friends and members of the public to donate as much as possible on the lead up to the event and on the day.

Fundraising activities comprised: raffles, auctions, bucket collections, face-painting, pie-throwing, mini-manicures, shoe-cleaning, cup-cake sales, tombola, a sponsored bike ride to every location and donations of items to the shops.

Shop themes for the day included: Frozen, Alice in Wonderland, Champers & Glamour and teddy bears. Such is the competitive spirit and creative thinking between each team that Fourfront and its design, fit-out and furniture businesses - Area Sq, Cube, 360 Design Studios and Sketch – have collectively raised more than any other business taking part in the Apprentice Challenge so far. Their £34,607 is over £11,000 more than its second- placed rival and nearly double the amount raised by the third-ranked firm.

CEO Clive Lucking explains: “Taking part in charitable events and volunteering is engrained in our office culture – we give staff three days off a year to do so. While we design, fit-out and furnish offices for a living, Fourfront is so much more than that – it’s a combination of sincere, energetic, passionate and like-minded people.

“Shooting Star Chase is such a worthwhile cause, supporting children and their families undergoing the most horrendous of circumstances. Everyone who has helped over the last few weeks has in some way made their situation just a tad-less awful and for that I am very proud.”

Shooting Star Chase has hospices in Hampton and Guildford and cares for babies, children and teenagers who are not expected to reach their 21st birthday. The charity supports the whole family from diagnosis to end of life and through bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

Corporate Relationship Manager at Shooting Star Chase, Sylvia La Porte, comments: “We are very grateful to be Fourfront Group’s chosen charity partner; they give security to important parts of our work caring for babies, children, young people and their families.

“Fourfront is an excellent example of an organisation that truly embraces its corporate social responsibilities and is an absolute delight to work with. To date staff have raised over £200k for Shooting Star Chase and their level of support in raising funds and building awareness for us has been tremendous.”
