Fourfront Group raise £500,000 for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices

Workplace specialist Fourfront Group has reached the phenomenal milestone of raising £500,000 for charity Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.

Fourfront Group has been a corporate partner of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices since 2008, and since then, has dedicated their time and expertise to deliver refurbishments at their Hospices in Guildford and Hampton, as well as staff taking on individual and team challenges.

The £500,000 figure was surpassed following Fourfront Group’s Apprentice Challenge, which took place on Friday, and saw over 70 employees separated into 11 teams taking over the charity’s shops in Hampton, Weybridge, Chiswick, Teddington, Cobham, Shepperton, Fulham, Twickenham, Battersea, Whitton and Walton on Thames. Known as the ‘Apprentice Challenge’, their mission was to encourage colleagues, family, friends and members of the public to donate as much as possible on the lead up to the event and on the day.

Gary Chandler, CEO of Fourfront Group, said: “Through the various Hospice refurbishments that the Group has undertaken, many of us has seen first-hand the incredible work and support that Shooting Star Children’s Hospices provides to so many individuals. This has been the driver for us to continue to support and fundraise for this charity for the past 11 years.

Giving back to the community is engrained in our office culture, we give each team member three days off a year to do charity work, many of which choose to dedicate these days to Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. I am proud to work alongside each and every individual at Fourfront Group who has participated in a challenge over the years, whether it be a sky-dive, a 40-mile walk or an office bake-off competition, this has been a real team effort to reach the half million-pound mark. Here’s to raising a million.”

James Cornwell, Director at Fourfront Group, adds: “Fourfront Group’s dedicated charity committee voluntarily give up their time and effort to put on the fundraising events that has enabled us to fundraise this amount of money, and we’re very thankful to have these amazing people within the business.

A special mention must go to my colleague and dedicated supporter of the charity, Justin Lewis. This year alone Justin project managed the refurbishment at the Hampton Hospice, and if that wasn’t enough, then took on the monstrous challenge of walking the Thames Path. Justin is a true Fourfronter who inspires us all to be the best we can be.”

Alex Rennie, Corporate Relationship Manager at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, said “The support Shooting Star Children’s Hospices has had from Fourfront over the past 11 years is simply outstanding. A huge thank you to each and every person that’s been involved in reaching such a magnificent milestone in fundraising. Over the years they have transformed areas in both our hospices to make them warm, inviting and sensory spaces for the families we support, and taken part in a raft of challenges to raise such a fantastic amount of money. This continued support has meant we can continue to provide the vital care so desperately needed by families and make every moment count.”
