Fourfront Group are delighted to announce we have won the Thames Valley Business Magazine Workplace Mental Health Award

We are delighted to announce that Fourfront Group has won the Thames Valley Business Magazine Workplace Mental Health Award.

In what is believed to be a first for business awards, Thames Valley Business Magazine launched the new award category for the first time this year. Supported by the Cardinal Clinic, the private mental health clinic in Windsor, and Brighter Berkshire, an initiative which helps to reduce stigma about mental health and improve local opportunities, the award is also endorsed by Berkshire MPs such as Richard Benyon.

Awards chairman David Murray said: “We are proud to be providing a platform for this important issue. Good employers understand that, apart from supporting the individuals involved, they can improve productivity in their company by having robust policies in place. We hope to be able to recognise some of the best employer practices out there.”

A key focus for our Fourfront Group Wellbeing Programme this year has been striving to battle the stigma associated with mental health and discrimination around it. To promote mental health in the workplace, we have an online Wellbeing Forum where we regularly post articles on our intranet discussing these issues. It also includes a communal chat section where both senior members of staff and employees have shared their stories and experiences facilitating an active conversation around wellbeing and proactive ways to combat life’s stresses. Strategic Wellbeing Champions have been trained to support their colleagues and meet regularly in each location to drive wellbeing initiatives such as activities to celebrate World Mental Health Day 10th October which included massages, mindfulness exercises and our video campaign #itsoktotalk. We have also partnered with the Mind and Mental Health Foundation who regularly share insight into workplace mental health and participate in such events as our recent Wellness seminar as a part of Workplace Week.

Healthy working patterns are encouraged in each office by providing shared facilities to eat together and promote a sense of community. Our offices support flexibility with a range of working settings to suit different requirements and personalities, and encourage movement. Workshops on stress, nutrition, mindfulness and gender specific health are run throughout the year in addition to yoga classes and gym discounts. We have a strong set of values called the Fourfront Way and invest in our people through training, mentoring, charity days and partnerships, to support interaction and create a support network.

Group HR Director, Pippa Savory said: “I am delighted to receive this award on behalf of Fourfront Group. We started our journey just a few months ago in striving to remove the stigma of mental health in the workplace. It is an honour to receive such recognition when we feel that we have so much more to achieve in this arena. Culture is king at Fourfront Group and it is our belief that the mental wellbeing of our staff plays a key part in making our company one of the best to work for.”
