Fourfront Group launches NextGen talent

Commercial interiors specialist Fourfront Group has launched NextGen, a young professionals business network designed to accelerate skills development, connect young people within Fourfront and feed their expertise back into the business. The programme is open to anyone 30 and under who works for Fourfront – Area Sq, Cube Interior Solutions, 360 Design Studios and Sketch Studios – and includes site visits, seminars, workshops, training sessions and industry events.

NextGen, which was set up following feedback from Fourfront’s annual employee engagement survey, aims to support career progression and attract new talent to the business.

“As a business, we are committed to being the best, to hire the best people to do the best work. NextGen will support our employees in their most formative years by providing networking and skills development opportunities, knowledge-sharing and commercial awareness,” said Clive Lucking, CEO of Fourfront Group.

At the launch event on Thursday 12 March at London’s stunning Mondrian Hotel, 50 of Fourfront’s rising stars heard from bestselling author and scientist Dr Isaiah Hankel who urged them to record their goals and make a plan to achieve them. “If you write down your goals, you create a vision to achieve them and that’s energising.”  Start with the end in mind, he said, and create a path to achieve it by surrounding yourself with the right people and creating the right habits.

The group also heard from the NextGen committee about their plans for the programme which includes a bespoke tour of Clerkenwell Design Week, social media workshops and a summer social.

“I’m thrilled that we’ve launched NextGen,” said Cecilia Gad, Fourfront’s HR adviser, who is also NextGen’s chairperson. “It’s not only a brilliant opportunity for us all to get to know other Fourfronters who work in different areas, and support one another, but also a chance for the committee to improve our own skills such as public speaking, event organisation and leadership.”

James Hamerton, project consultant at Area Sq, and NextGen’s vice-chairperson, agreed. “The power of NextGen is that it has support from the Fourfront board but it is down to us to make it a success and really make a difference. I’m excited to see what we can achieve as a team.”
